It doesn’t happen often that a movie in Bollywood promotes Golf over Cricket. So deep down I wish this story to be true.

The movie is about Ali who is an undergarment seller, a passionate cricketer and a local mawali who does hafta vasooli. One day he tries his hand at golf and is suddenly seen as the “Sachin of Golf”. This also marks the beginning of a rivalry between Ali and five-time national champion Vikram.

Sohail Khan as the second time director has made the first half a real entertainer but the movie is all about golf swings in the second half so it does get boring. Music of the movie is also not that great. Dialogues by Raaj Shaandilyaa are very refreshing.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui with his performance holds the film together as his one-liners and comic timing is the soul essence of the movie. He really has taken his acting to a whole new level although you can see him uncomfortable dancing and romancing.

Amy Jackson is just there to serve the purpose of Bollywood heroine and Arbaaz Khan…… kyunki Bhai ki picture hai.

Jas Arora as the villain fails to impress with his over acting. Special mention to Paresh Ganatra who is superb with his comedy. The other supporting cast of Asif Basra, Seema Biswas, Nikitin Dheer are good.

Despite the same old Bollywood masala, I would give Freaky Ali 2.5/5 stars and it is surely a one-time watch for all the “Faizal” fans (who isn’t these days).
